That's because the build-up and the prerequisite to being such, is much different than what I first thought. Psycho moms are not paranoid that no one else can do the job properly. This paranoia as it seems is really just frustration -- frustation built-up from all the hours we put into our child-raising efforts.
Scenario 1
'Caretaker' puts baby in crib with bottle to go to sleep. 'Psycho mom' rushes in, grabs the baby and gives 'Caretaker' a dirty look.
- No, we are not afraid the baby will choke on the bottle.
- No, we are not afraid the baby will be traumatized from the 1 time it doesn't get held while feeding.
- Yes, we are incredibly irritated that 'Caretaker' puts baby to bed in this lazy fashion while we have spent 40,000 + hrs breastfeeding, holding baby in our lap and giving the bottle.
Scenario 2
'Caretaker' accidentally lets baby pinch his/her finger in the drawer. When 'Psycho mom' hears about it, she is in a bad mood the entire week.
- No, we are not afraid the baby's finger will fall off.
- No, we do not think 'Caretaker' is bad at babysitting as this happens on a daily basis during our care.
- Yes, we are incredibly irritated because the little time 'Caretaker' spends with baby, we would hope that he/she would watch and would want to watch baby nonstop.
Hormones might also have something to do with this psycho-mom business too.
